The Gun Club fue una banda de rock, formada en 1980, y separada en 1996. A pesar de su poco éxito, The Gun Club es considerado un grupo altamente de culto, debido a la expresión de sus letras y sus composiciones.
Su mezcla va desde el punk, hasta el blues, country, rockabilly y el post-punk clásico de los años 70.
The Gun Club es considerado también como uno de los grupos más aclamados de culto de su época junto a grandes grupos del punk como: The Damned, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Ramones, entre otros.
Ganaron éxito gracias a los sencillos: "Sex Beat", "Breaking Hands", "The Great Divide", "Pastoral, Hide & Seek (The Lost Song)", "Cry to Me" y "Walkin' with the Beast".
